Falabella Family Bistro, Wesley Chapel, FL

  I went to Falabella Family Bistro for lunch. Nice, quiet little restaurant. I ordered the Caprese appetizer, the Frutti de Mare, and a Tiramisu for dessert. The Caprese was vey good. Fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and a balsamic drizzle. The mozzarella was nice and firm but what really makes this appetizer is the tomato. Fresh tomato that's actually ripe. Most places I go use tomatoes that are not quite ripe but these tomatoes were perfectly ripened and delicious. Then the sweet acidity of the balsamic reduction. So good! The Frutti de Mare was amazing! Full of clams, mussels, and shrimp, on a bed of spaghetti with spaghetti sauce, and served with a slice of garlic bread. All of the seafood was well cooked and good size. The spaghetti was perfectly al dente. A good portion of food and delicious. And I used the garlic bread to sop up the sauce! The Tiramisu was good. Bluefin Japanese Restaurant, Wesley Chapel, FL

After an early morning of driving and a morning of work, I decided to have lunch at Bluefin Japanese Restaurant. I ordered a miso soup, some unagi, a Volcano roll, and a Crazy Dragon roll. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. The miso soup was typical of what you might get at any Japanese restaurant or sushi bar. Miso broth with seaweed and tofu. So good. Same with the unagi. Eel filet on a piece of rice with some eel sauce. The Volcano roll was good. Fake crab, avocado, and cream cheese inside, topped with crab salad, tempura crunchies, and masago. The baked crab salad is what makes this roll. Creamy and delicious. The Crazy Dragon roll was also good. Shrimp tempura and avocado inside, topped with raw tuna, masago, and eel sauce. Hard Mountain Dew!

 Good day fellow Foodies! This blog is about Hard Mountain Dew. This product is a collaboration between Pepsi and The Boston Beer Company (the makers of Sam Adams.) I heard about this product last year and I have been greatly anticipating it's release. And now, it's here! I found it at one of my project stores. This particular case is a mix pack. It has regular Dew, Watermelon, Black Cherry, and Baja Blast flavors. I'm not a big fan of Baja Blast, so I haven't tried that flavor. Zero sugar and 5% alcohol each. First, original Dew. These things are dangerous. Tastes like Mountain Dew Zero Sugar. I can't even taste the alcohol. It goes down just like a soda would. No harsh aftertaste, just Dew. Next, Watermelon. Again, can't taste the alcohol. Just watermelon which is reminiscent of the Major Melon Dew. The Black Cherry is the one that I could taste the alcohol the most. Good day fellow Foodies! So, this blog is all about the food. Not just restaurant food, but any and all foods. And without further ado, here goes my first food product review. Today I'm blogging about what has probably become my number one favorite snack: the Coconut Toffee Cashews from Buc-ee's! These things are off-the-chart amazing! The flavor and texture combination is dynamite! The crispiness of the toffee and the crunch of the cashew with the softness of the coconut flakes... And the flavors! The sweet caramel of the toffee with the saltiness of the cashew and the coconut flavor... This snack is a powerhouse all the way around. Now, I know that there are not a lot of Buc-ee's stores around the country. But they are slowly expanding. We just got one close to my home town. I tried Don Camaron's for lunch yesterday. It was close to where I was working so I figured, why not? I have never been here before. I like trying new places and supporting local restaurants. And this place was good. 4 out of 5 stars. I arrived soon after they opened and I was seated immediately. I ordered my drink, sweet tea, and my lunch, the Sopon Marinero, or seafood soup. I then proceeded to wait. Now, I don't usually mention what I order as a drink. However, I ordered sweet tea and I got Brisk tea out of a Pepsi soda fountain. I was born and raised in the South. Brewed tea is tea. We do our tea right. The only reason I mention this at all is that soda fountain tea is not tea. But I digress... I waited a little longer than I thought I should have but, let me tell you, it was worth the wait! The Sopon Marinero was wonderful. Chock full of seafood! So, on my way to Miami from Kentucky I stopped at home. My daughter wanted some curry so we went to a place I like called Metropolis Grill. They serve Indian, Mediterranean, and Greek food. I've been here several times in the past. The service is good and the food is delish. 4 out of 5 stars. I ordered the Spanakopita appetizer, the lamb tikka masala, and a drink called Mermaid Water. The Mermaid Water was tasty. Mostly rum. Some spiced rum and coconut rum. Can't really remember what else was in it. Next, the Spanakopita. Cheesy, spinachy goodness wrapped in a crispy phyllo dough. It had good flavor but seemed to be slightly overcooked as it was a little on the dry side and the phyllo was dense and difficult to cut. Still, overall, a good appetizer. Lastly, the lamb tikka masala. Served with jasmine rice and naan, this dish always delights. The ever so slight gaminess of the lamb with the rich, creamy tikka masala... Soooo good!   This is my go-to restaurant whenever I'm home from work. I've been going here for somewhere near 30 years. It's what I compare all other Mexican restaurants wherever I travel. I've had many dishes here and they are delicious. However, I haven't done a review since starting my food blog so, here goes... I went home to visit my kids this past weekend. My daughter wanted to go to El Jalisciense for dinner. We waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated, but it was Friday night, so, all-in-all, not too bad. We got our complimentary chips and salsa. I ordered some bean dip, a piña colada, and one of my favorite dishes: El Combo. The bean dip is simply a layer of refried beans covered with white cheese sauce. Simple but delicious. I love the chips here. They are a medium thickness and served warm and crispy. The piña colada was ok. Certainly not the best I've had but it works when you have a craving. On to El Combo. It comes with one taco, one chile relleno, one to
